The Montessori School of Beaverton (MSB) is a private, nonprofit school serving children from preschool through grade 6. The school is affiliated with AMI, the Association Montessori Internationale, founded in 1929 by Dr. Maria Montessori. Since its start in 1977, MSB has gained an outstanding reputation for providing an environment of safety and respect for children, and one of professionalism and philosophical integrity for the staff. The school has no religious affiliation and makes no discrimination on the basis of race or creed, national or ethnic origin. In 1999, the school opened its own campus on beautiful rolling terrain just west of the city of Portland.
