Children start in the Primary at the age of 3.

Though not as common, we do have students, particularly transfer students, who start mid-year.

No, we do not offer before or after school care. However, we do offer an After-School Enrichment Program to our Elementary Students.

All of our students, age 3 – 12, attend school 5 days a week. You can find more details about student hours on our Affording MSB page, and our Children’s House page.

Children around the age of 3 begin school in the morning program, ending at 11:30. Your child will be invited to stay for lunch around the age of 4 and stay until 12:30. Once a child turns 5 they will join the extended day program which ends at 2:45. MSB is licensed as a school, not a child care facility. Children under the age of 5 are not permitted to stay longer than four hours.

MSB is open from 8:00am to 4:00 pm throughout the school year.

We also encourage you to attend an evening Informational Event or one of our monthly Montessori Explorations Events held the first Friday of the month from September through May at 8:30am. We encourage families to apply a full year in advance of their child’s 3rd birthday. Yes, it seems a bit crazy to apply for pre-school when your child is 2. However, there’s no time like the present to introduce your child to the compass that will guide their future.

Every year about 30 children begin as 3 year olds in our Primary Program – 5 boys and 5 girls in each of our three classrooms. Openings are first given to siblings of current students.

Acceptance letters for new, incoming 3 year-olds are generally sent in Mid-February.

Unfortunately, opportunities for children over 3 are not as common, as we do not experience much attrition. Because of our unique program, priority is given to children with previous Montessori experience. That said, we do not want to discourage your interest. If we could admit everyone we would! However, we do want to stress that these opportunities are limited.

Yes. Families with more than one child enrolled at MSB will receive a 15% tuition discount for every additional child enrolled.
